What is on page SEO optimization? SEO stands for search engine optimization. Basically creating a website that Google (and other search engines) thinks deserves a spot on their front page. There are many factors that contribute to a website’s search engine ranking, in this post we will be discussing how to optimize your posts and pages.
Why do I want to rank on search engines?
Sure there are other platforms to share your website like Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest for example. But if you’re not at least trying to rank on Google you’re missing out on the greatest potential source of traffic available. In 2021 Google accounted for over 70% of all global desktop search traffic, followed by Baidu at 13%, Bing at 12%, and Yahoo at 2%. The first five organic results account for 67.60% of all the clicks.

What is a keyword?
The first thing you want to do is keyword research. Once you have chosen a key word or two it’s time to write your content, or optimize existing content. You want to optimize your content to line up with what people are searching for. If your potential readers are Googling the words “how to bake a pie” then those are the words you need to optimize in your post.
What is a title tag?
A title tag is an HTML element that specifies the title of a web page. It shows up in the search snippet in a search engine results page (SERP). It also shows up as the clickable headline for the search result. This is very important for user experience, SEO, and social sharing. The title tag of a web page is meant to be an accurate and concise description of a page’s content.
What is a meta description?
The meta description of a webpage is the short text that appears underneath your URL on the SERP. It should include the keywords you want to rank for as well as a brief summary of the content on your page. This is to let users know if the page will answer their question. It should be about 155 characters long as well.

Internal links are anchor text links directed at other URLs on your website. Why do you need these? Well for one thing they are a part of SEO best practices. That’s because they serve an important part of the structure of your website: Internal linking allows users to easily navigate your website. Furthermore it establishes an information hierarchy for the given website and helps spread link equity (ranking power) around websites. Internal linking also helps Google search and understand your website.
External Links are hyperlinks directed at an outside URL (a website outside of yours). Search engines want you to link out to at least one other website per page because it’s optimal for user experience. The key is to link to an appropriate, relevant, quality website that is not in direct competition with your website. The external link should provide the users with the option of finding more relevant information on the topic that you are writing about. For example if I have a post about all the different types of flour for baking I may link out to a recipe for almond flour cookies u set the section about almond flour.
What is Alt Text?
The ‘Alt text’ is short for ‘alternative text’. It’s a short written description of an image. Write the keywords in the alt text of the images of a given webpage for optimal on page SEO.
